This valley is a priority target for The Nature Conservancy because of the vast number of species of fish, mollusks, fresh water snails and plants that habit this beautiful valley. It must the beauty of the valley and clean water that cause the people to have exceptional intense blue eyes, a sharp wit and to look 20 years younger than their real age. The valley is a unique piece of history with old homes still lived in and family cemeteries still in use that go back to before the civil war.
